Cisco has announced a new version of its CCNP Routing and Switching certification. The updated credential, which replaces the existing CCNP R&S, is designed to validate the skills needed by network professionals who work with Cisco routers and switches in enterprise networking environments.
The new CCNP Routing and Switching consists of three exams: 300-101 ROUTE, 300-115 SWITCH, and 300-135 TSHOOT.
Candidates must pass all three exams to earn the credential. The exams cover topics such as IP routing, IP multicasting, security, and troubleshooting. Cisco has also announced an update to its CCIE Routing and Switching certification.
The new version of the credential will be based on the same three exams as the CCNP Routing and Switching (300-101 ROUTE, 300-115 SWITCH, and 300-135 TSHOOT). In addition, candidates for the CCIE R&S must take a fourth exam, 400-151 CORE v1.1. This exam tests knowledge of core technologies such as network principles, Layer 2 and 3 protocols, virtualization, automation,and programmability.
