This third edition is a significant revision of the second edition.
It includes new material that reflects the latest changes in antenna theory and design. The book has been reorganized to provide a more logical presentation of topics. In particular, Chapter 2 on electromagnetic waves has been significantly expanded to provide more insight into wave propagation.
New chapters on aperture antennas (Chapter 9), reflector antennas (Chapter 10), lens antennas (Chapter 11), horn antennas (Chapter 12), microminiature antennas (Chapter 13), active antennas (Chapter 14) and Novel Antennas (Chapter 15) have been added.
These new chapters replace some of the material in Chapters 5-8 of the second edition which dealt with wire and printed dipole antennas, loop antennas, arrays and broadband matching techniques for these types of antenna structures. Consequently, this third edition provides a much broader coverage of antenna topics than did its predecessor while maintaining its focus on fundamentals.
