When Will the Nhl Playoffs Start in 2022

The NHL playoffs are scheduled to start on April 13, 2022.

What is the Playoff Format for the 2022 Nhl Playoffs

The NHL playoffs are a best-of-seven elimination tournament among the 16 teams that qualify for the postseason each year. The Stanley Cup Finals is the championship series of the playoffs. In order to make the playoffs, a team must first earn one of the top three spots in their respective division.

The top three teams in each division automatically qualify for the playoffs. The next two teams in each conference, regardless of divisional alignment, also qualify for the playoffs as “wild card” teams. These wild card teams are seeded fourth and fifth based on their regular season records.

Once the playoff field is set, the bracket is determined by a process called “seeding.” In this process, matchups are determined by which team earned more points during the regular season. For example, if Team A earned 100 points and Team B earned 90 points, Team A would be seeded higher than Team B. The higher seed always plays at home in every round except for the Stanley Cup Finals.

The first round of the playoffs is known as “the opening round,” or more commonly, “the first round.” In this round, all four wild card teams face off against each other in two separate best-of-seven series’. These series’ are referred to as “wild card matchups.”

The winner of each wild card matchup then advances to play a best-of-seven series against one of the top three seeds from their conference in what is known as “the divisional semifinals.” The two remaining divisional semifinal winners then meet in what is known as “the conference finals.” This too is a best-of-seven series with home ice advantage going to whichever team had more points during the regular season (regardless of whether they were a top seed or a wild card team).

Lastly, the winner of each conference final faces off against each other in seven game series to determine who will hoist Lord Stanley’s coveted Cup aloft come late June or early July!

How Many Teams Will Make the Playoffs in 2022

In 2022, the NFL will have 32 teams in its playoff field. This is the same number of teams that made the playoffs in 2020 and 2021. The additional playoff team for each conference will come from a newly created “play-in” game that will be held on the Monday after Week 17.

Who are Some of the Key Players to Watch in the 2022 Playoffs

In the 2022 playoffs, there are a few key players to keep an eye on. Firstly, LeBron James will be looking to lead his team to victory and cement his legacy as one of the greatest basketball players of all time.
