He argues that these eight factors have contributed to the success of black Americans while also perpetuating some of the challenges they face. Charlamagne argues that while white privilege is real and should be acknowledged, so too should black privilege.

He believes that by understanding and acknowledging black privilege, we can begin to address some of the disparities between blacks and whites in America.

In his book Black Privilege, Charlamagne Tha God explores what he calls the “eight pillars of privilege” that have helped him succeed in life. He argues that while racism is still a very real problem in America, black people who are willing to work hard and take advantage of the opportunities available to them can overcome many of the obstacles that stand in their way. Charlamagne lays out his case for why he believes black Americans should embrace their own version of the “American dream” – one that includes success in both the personal and professional spheres.

In addition to offering advice on how to achieve success, Charlamagne also candidly discusses some of the challenges he’s faced in his own life and career. Whether you agree with everything Charlamagne has to say or not, Black Privilege is an insightful and thought-provoking read that will leave you questioning your own assumptions about race and opportunity in America.

Black Privilege Poem

In her poem “Black Privilege,” writer and activist Ijeoma Oluo explores the ways in which white supremacy and racism have allowed her to succeed in America. Despite being a black woman, she has benefited from the color of her skin and the privileges that come with it. She writes about how she is able to walk through life without fear of violence or harassment, how she can get a job without worrying about discrimination, and how she can be sure her children will receive a quality education.

While acknowledging that these are all things that should be available to everyone, regardless of race, she highlights how they are not. White privilege is something that many people benefit from without even realizing it. It’s time for us to start talking about it openly so we can begin to dismantle the systems that perpetuate it.

Who is the Black Charlemagne?

There are a few different contenders for the title of “black Charlemagne”. One is Mansa Musa, the 14th century emperor of the Mali empire. Mansa Musa was incredibly wealthy and is said to have been one of the richest men in history.

He made a famous pilgrimage to Mecca and was very generous with his wealth, giving away so much gold that he caused inflation in Egypt! Another contender is Emperor Haile Selassie of Ethiopia, who ruled from 1930-1974. Selassie was a very powerful and influential leader, and was even given the title “King of Kings”.

He worked to modernize Ethiopia and also fought against colonialism. Finally, there is Idris ibn Abdallah al-Qadiri al-Fasi, who was the founder of Morocco. Idris I was a skilled general and diplomat, and he managed to unify much of Morocco under his rule.
