What Inspired You to Write A Seat at the Table

It was a long, hard road to get my book published. It was worth it in the end, though, because I had a story that needed to be told. My hope is that A Seat at the Table will inspire other people to tell their stories, too.

I was born and raised in the South, and I’ve always been interested in the Civil Rights movement. When I started doing research for my book, I realized that there were so many personal accounts of what happened during that time that had never been told. I felt like it was my duty to share those stories.

Why Did You Choose to Focus on the Restaurant Industry

What was Your Favorite Part of Writing This Book

My favorite part of writing this book was definitely the character development. I loved getting to know my characters and watching them grow throughout the story. It was also really gratifying to see the finished product and know that all my hard work had paid off.
